Two great podcast episodes on games and learning 📻
Listen to Zac and Chi speak about their game and learn experiences
Hi everyone!
This week both of us are away so we have prepared something a little different and special for you. Instead of reading our newsletter, you can listen to us talk instead!
This is because we were both interviewed on the Professor Game podcast! 🎙
What’s the Professor Game podcast you ask? Well, it’s a weekly podcast with the host Rob Alvarez who interviews successful practitioners of games, gamification and game thinking to provide listeners with ideas, insights and inspiration to make learning experiences meaningful.
For Zac’s interview he discusses digital gamification and how boardgames can be used for learning.
Chi on the other hand talked about his accidental encounter of “gamification”, and his journey of incorporating gamification and boardgames into his clinical work and training as a psychologist.
If that’s not enough, there is more! Zac also was interviewed by ABC Radio about boardgames. You can listen to the interview here:
We hope you enjoy our podcasts disguised as a newsletter! We will be back with another Game & Learn newsletter in a fortnight with a new focus on communication skills. That’s right, we’ll be recommending board games to help you, your children, and your students learn and practice communication.
Until then, keep gaming and keep learning!
If this is the first time you reading Game & Learn, it’s a newsletter that recommends the best board games out there, and shows you how to use them to learn and teach important life skills.
We have just completed our first series which focused on teamwork. You can find all the board games we have recommended here:
Arrows and Teamwork - The importance of teamwork and why board games can help us effectively teach it
The Mind - An excellent, silent teamwork game
Regicide - Play with just a pack of cards!
Unlock! - An escape room in a box!
Forbidden Island - The team must work together to succeed
